about the water building Originally Kansas City's water pumping station, constructed in the late 1800s, this building pumped water brought up the hill by mule-drawn wagons into the city's distribution system. The combination heavy timber and concrete building also had a two stop elevator that was powered by mules. The building was converted for loft-style office and retail uses in 2002. |
